So, what happened since the latest update?

First, I paid more attention to that slightly deformed hand. It didn't seem right, so I erased it and started over. Studied Mr Depp's hands a little bit, they are not as chunky as I first drew them.

The face I left untouched, safe for the bloody additions here and there.

The hair got some attention, and it needs some more but I'm getting there.

The clothing is coming along as well. Nowhere near finished of course, but I do think that this will be my last update before I will be able to finish this piece.

Further on the smaller details are coming along as well. Razor, blood, highlights and extra shadows.

I've been diving in to the legends and history around this Sweeney Todd, and I found it quite striking that there seems to be some weird connection to this typical Dutch legendary figure, Sinterklaas. The story has it that Sweeney killed off three figures (varying from kids to clerks to scholars in the different stories), and that Sinterklaas (or St. Nicolas) brought them back to life again. Not that this is of any importance right now, haha! But I found it funny to read this, since we're only a couple of days away from the Sinterklaas festivities. Still, I prefer Sweeney over Sinterklaas though...
